Given the immense amount of geography this section covers, we expect to be writing about the beaches of Asia forever! The area is as long as it is wide, and the countries we cover in this region are also huge, such as India, Russia and China, and quite small, such as Thailand and Vietnam. This is a region of ice-cold climate in the far north to tropical in the south, and the beaches of the latter are among the most popular in the world.

This is also a volatile part of the Earth, from natural and man-made resources. Phuket, on the west coast of Thailand, has some of the most perfect beaches to be found on this planet, but the tsunami of December 2004 destroyed many of them, (Surin Beach was notable in that is sustained much less damage); it also caused serious damage in the Philippines, Sri Lanka and other countries situated close to the earthquake’s epicenter in the Indian Ocean. The problems caused by man are mostly wrought of wars and religious disagreements, or by political unrest.

Huge swaths of Russia and China are not included in beach.org’s Asian collection simply because where there are beaches, they are inaccessible (often high in mountains) or the climate is too harsh to enjoy them. We have focused instead on the many beaches, from cooler climes to hotter ones, which are tangible. They include the finest beaches in these nations: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brunei, Bulgaria, Cambodia, China, Estonia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, North Korea, South Korea, Laos, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, the Maldives, Myanmar (Burma), Pakistan, the Philippines, Romania, Russia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Vietnam.

You might be surprised just how many great beaches there are in the countries surrounding the Caspian Sea, just for an example. This region also includes beaches on these stunning freshwater lakes and salty seas: Black Sea, Aral Sea, Indian Ocean, Arabian Sea, Lake Onega, Lake Ladoga, White Sea, Bay of Bengal, South China Sea, Pacific Ocean and Sea of Japan. You can “sea” from our collection of nations and bodies of water that our Asia section will grow and grow.

Whether you want to research a vacation in winter at one of the now-restored Phuket Beaches, summer at a beach in the Crimea (as the Russian nobility used to do!), or laze all day at Palolem Beach in Goa, India, we can guide you all the way. The beaches of Asia are for R&R as well as activity and exploration, and beach.org will bring them right to your computer, giving you the chance to decide where you’ll venture on your next beach junket.
